Pastor Michael A. Butler is the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Church of Higher Praise. Pastor Butler has always had a heart for the Outreach and Evangelism Ministry ever since he established the church in 2004. He endeavors to lead the church to glorify God by proclaiming in word and deed the good news that Jesus Christ came and died for the sins of the world, rose victorious over death, transforms lives by the power of His Spirit and is coming again to establish His kingdom.

Higher Praise Is a Non-Denominational Church dedicated to ministering the Word of God and places our beliefs completely on biblical principles for 20 years. We encourage all that we come in contact with to submit to following the Bible in its entirety and to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Whether we are together or alone during the week, we ask our members to pray for each other, the sick and the shut-in. We pray for our Pastor, Staff, and Families both inside and outside of our ministry.

Music Lessons with a Difference

The Upthegrove Music School has enabled hundreds of students of all ages to develop their musical skills in a fun, relaxed environment at home. Our approach is not “one size fits all.” Rather than relying on finger exercises or reading music, we tailor each lesson to the abilities and interests of the student, explaining music concepts in a clear, easily understood manner and encouraging exploration and improvisation. Whether your interest is in classical, blues, rock, folk, or pop music, you get to decide what you want to play.
Practice happens as a rehearsal in every session, so progress is amazing!
Want to learn your favorite song? Our patient, knowledgeable teachers, will explain how it is put together and help you learn how to play it…no weeks of practicing scales before you’re able to play anything. We believe that having fun is the most effective motivator for making progress in your musical journey.
